Bartlett & West changes lives with uncommon flexibility

Noor Jebbeh is Project Engineer for the Construction Services Group – Transportation at Bartlett & West. She started her career at the company in 2023.

We talked with Noor about how a culture of flexibility, generosity, and diversity of background and thought, makes Bartlett & West an empowering place to work.

How has the flexibility Bartlett & West offers changed your life?

I used to put three hours on the road driving to and from work. I was working toward my master’s degree in engineering management while working full-time, and I needed something to make my life easier and give me time to study for my master’s.

A couple of friends recommended Bartlett & West; I started working at Bartlett & West during my last semester of my master’s.

Everyone at Bartlett & West was understanding and flexible with my schedule.

I save three hours on the road when I work remotely, and my co-workers are understanding. It reflects on my personal life. Now I get to spend time with my parents and brothers and I have time to work out. I am doing great in my job because I am happy.

Is it difficult to get the mentorship or collaboration you need at this point in your career with so many employee-owners working remotely?

The people here are good to work with and they're willing to share their experience. They tell me, ‘Don't hesitate. Go ahead and ask questions. If you don't ask, you don't learn.’

I'm able to work on different projects with different managers using different softwares, and I'm able to get the experience from others to help me build my own experience. This is great because getting to learn something from someone else who went through it makes your experience a little bit better because you will see it from a different point of view.
