Project Detail
Evergy uses Bartlett & West transmission line survey services
Challenge
Over four years, Bartlett & West worked on multiple transmission projects that equated to 85 miles of surveying. The project began on the west side of Topeka and went south and east to the southwest corner of Shawnee County. It then went north to the Kansas River along the east side of Topeka. From there it went southeast to the southwest corner of Lawrence and finally ending a few miles east in south central Lawerence. The project crossed well over a 100 individual parcels, multiple highways, an interstate and many ponds and creeks. The last portion of the project was directly impacted by the K10 Bypass widening.
Solution
Bartlett & West worked closely with the Evergy and the design engineers for KDOT to establish new easements for structures impacted by the highway realignment.
Value
Bartlett & West's experienced surveys coupled with the company's understanding of power provider needs and relationships within the area meant that Evergy got timely solutions for a complicated route. In addition, Bartlett & West has registered professional licensed surveyors in most states and strategically locates our surveyors throughout our offices in the central United States to be able to efficiently staff projects of different sizes in a cost competitive manner.
