Project Detail
Coca-Cola Plant Wastewater Improvements
Challenge
Coca Cola’s Truesdale, Missouri production facility faced wastewater treatment performance challenges and excessive wastewater treatment related operational costs.
When the facility implemented a 30 percent increase in beverage production capacity, these challenges and costs reached a tipping point.
Solution
Bartlett & West evaluated wastewater treatment performance, identified alternatives and presented costs and benefits associated with these improvements. A technical memorandum was prepared to detail the recommended improvements. Bartlett & West lead a design build effort to deliver various solutions.
Value
The improvements will reduce sludge handling and electricity costs, improve performance, reduce odors and meet the wastewater treatment needs anticipated for future beverage capacity expansions. Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) improvements were made so that the new system communicates with both the main production plant SCADA network and the security guard shack, where alarm conditions are continuously monitored.
